Overview of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560 Sedan
The refreshed 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560 isn’t just a technology juggernaut, this is still a German full-size luxury sedan. This is a class of car that has been the ride of choice for plutocrats and world leaders everywhere for decades. This one may have lacked the protective armor often added to cars in some in some of the more violence-prone parts of the world, but it was otherwise packed with the amenities your local neighborhood billionaire or dictator would expect.
The current S-class is one of the most striking large, luxury sedans on the road today. Despite being a big beast of a car, it doesn’t actually look as large as it is. Mercedes’ designers have given the bodywork enough curvature that it doesn’t look as tank-like as the early-1990s W140 generation. But make no mistake, with a wheelbase of 132.5-inches and 215-inches overall length, this is a large sedan.
The cabin is finished with a mix of porcelain (aka beige) and black Nappa leather with piano black lacquered wood trim. The porcelain leather across the dash and in other parts of the cabin is quilted in a look that may not appeal to everyone, but fortunately, Mercedes offers a number of other combinations.
What’s new this year for the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560 Sedan?
The 2018 S-Class has a slightly updated look thanks to a restyling of the headlights, grille, and front and rear bumpers. Inside, there’s an updated COMAND infotainment system, a standard wireless charging pad, and a new Energizing Comfort system that links various car features together to simultaneously pamper occupants.
